Convenience And Price

February 7, 2018 By seo_admin

There are several factors that are continually cited when people are asked what they look for when they choose a dry cleaner, and oddly enough these factors are the same ones that people cite when they say they do not go to the dry cleaner enough.  Many people do not make it part of their regular routine to have their dry cleaning done, which probably has more to do with a changing culture in American than anything else.  It used to be that the workplace was formal for almost everyone who did not provide manual labor, which meant that suits and dresses were expected to be part of the wardrobe that would be worn every day.  This meant that these clothes had to be cleaned far more often, and because these types of clothes also cannot be washed in a home washing machine the dry cleaner became part of your regular routine.  A man who wore a suit to work would ultimately wear it only once or twice before having it dry cleaned, and shirts were worn only once.  This would mean that you would have a closet that might consist of 10 to 14 suits and twenty dress shirts, one being worn every day and then taken to be dry cleaned as a group at the end of the week.  Women who worked would have the same types of wardrobes, consisting of work clothing, evening wear and casual clothing.  Work clothing would make a regular rotation to the dry cleaner every week.  Now that workplaces have become far more casual, and the concept of “casual Fridays” now is extended to the whole week in many cases, the wardrobe that is able to be worn daily consists of clothing that can be washed at home.  While this may seem more convenient, in many cases it actually is not.  The idea of “casual clothes” replacing work clothes is actually not the case, and the clothing that is now able to be worn to work in many cases is simply less formal business attire.  These types of clothes should still be dry cleaned in order to protect the fabrics, and the only reason that they are not rotated to the dry cleaner is that people no longer want to take the time to drop off and pick up.  This is why so many dry cleaners like Complete Cleaners will offer a totally free drop off and pick up service, where you simply leave your clothes in a bag on the front steps of your home and a van will pick it up and transport it to the location.  When the order is complete it will be returned to the same spot and a credit card on file is charged.  As far as cost goes, protecting the fabrics of fine clothing is necessary to keep it looking new, and the small ongoing costs of dry cleaning will hardly add up to having to purchase new work clothes more often than if you simply kept them in good order.  Don’t skip your dry cleaning, get it done regularly and often.

Dry Cleaning To Protect Investment

February 7, 2018 By seo_admin

When people think of their “investments” they are generally thinking about their stock portfolio, 401K or some money that you gave to your friends and family to start businesses.  Some may view their homes or other properties s investments, and if you have the propensity to collect things that go up in value, you may also view those things as investments.  Basically, people will generally think of investments as things that are able to be sold for more money than you bought them for.  Smart business people will tend to think of their clothing as an investment, right up there with their education.  These types of things are not able to be directly sold the way an asset can, but they provide more to you in value that can earn money than they cost.  Wardrobe investments will usually consist of either designer or expensive types of clothing that is not necessarily meant to be worn every day, but will impress those around you when you are wearing it.  Some may only wear their investment clothing on special occasions, and others will view the ability to further their financial situations through the securing of a higher paying job or business opportunity as an investment.  Simply put, in these types of situations it pays to look good, and the only way you are going to do that is to invest in clothing that looks good.

So how do you protect the investment in fine clothing that you have, no matter how large or small it might be? The most obvious answer is dry cleaning.  In order to keep your clothing that is made of fine fabrics or delicate materials looking fresh and new, you need to dry clean it after every wearing, or at least after ever two.  When you wear your clothes, you are subjecting them to dirt and odors from both the inside and the outside.  Just the air that you are moving through as you wear your clothes is filled with dust and dirt particals, which are constantly settling on your clothes.  If you accidentally spill anything on the clothes, the stain is going to begin setting in almost immediately, and will begin to change the colors of the fabrics right away.  From the inside, your skin is constantly giving off sweat, dirt and oils that are coming into direct contact with these fabrics, and being ground in by your body movements within the clothes.  At the points where your skin directly touches the fabrics, like the areas around your neck and arms, the oils that your skin naturally produce are turning the colors more yellow with every second.  Basically, the only way to stop the breakdown of the fabrics and the dis colorization through oils is to dry clean them immediately after wearing.  This will extend the life span of your clothes, and get you the maximum value that can be gained from them.

It would be difficult to buy new clothes every time an opportunity presents itself.  Protect the clothing investment you have with dry cleaning at your nearest dry cleaner.

How Often Should You Dry Clean Clothing?

January 11, 2018 By seo_admin

One of the most common questions asked of dry cleaners is “how often should I dry clean my clothes?” This question obviously comes from the perception of dry cleaning being inconvenient and expensive, both of which are really not the case.  The easiest answer to the question is “when they are dirty,” but of course that is a vague way to answer.  How “dirty” something is generally is a perception, and one thing may feel dirty just because you have been trained for your whole life that you wash your clothing after you wear it once.  In the case of cottons and most knits, this is probably true due to the fact that they are generally casual clothing, and you are probably sweating in them more than the case of a formal outfit.  T shirts and cotton pants are subjected to far heavier soiling because they are specifically made to be able to withstand washing in a machine often.  This is why you have been trained to wash your clothes after every wearing.  Most formal clothing never comes in direct contact with your skin, in the example of a jacket that has a shirt under it.  The jacket will generally be sitting on top of a formal collared shirt, which is on top of an undershirt all designed to keep the more delicate fabrics away from your skin where sweat and odor are transferred.  In this case, you would wash the undershirt at home after every time you wear it.  You would probably dry clean the formal shirt after every one or two wearings depending if it is summer or winter, and you would iron it every time it is worn.  The suit itself would be dry cleaned after ever four wearings or so, because it is not in direct contact with your skin and therefor the soiling and odor is mostly from outside.  If you stain it or spill anything on it then it should be dry cleaned immediately.

In the case of formal wear that does come in contact with your skin, like dresses or suit pants, these should probably be dry cleaned after every two wearings in the winter and after each time it is worn in the summer.  The sweat and oils from your skin are the cause of the yellowing and odor that gets trapped in the fabric of these garments and ages them, so you are going to make sure that any residue from your skin is removed from them quickly.  If these types of garments are left too long in between dry cleanings, the oils can build up and ruin them permanently.

Dry cleaning is not as inconvenient and expensive as you think, and many dry cleaners like Complete Cleaners will offer some form of pickup and delivery service that allows you to put the items right outside your home in a bag and we will come get them.  We will then leave them in the same place when they are cleaned.  In the case of our business, we offer this service free of charge, and keep our prices as low as possible so that you dry clean your clothing enough to keep it looking good.  It is far less expensive to dry clean than it is to replace.

What Types Of Materials Should Be Dry Cleaned

January 11, 2018 By seo_admin

One of the most common questions that gets asked of dry cleaners is “what types of materials should be dry cleaned?” There are two easy ways to answer this question, the first and most obvious answer being that if there is a tag in the garment that says “dry clean only” then you should not attempt to wash it at home.  The materials are not compatible with the typical washer and dryer that you have in your home, and putting that type of clothing through the washer will most likely ruin it.  If you cannot find a tag that gives you any cleaning instructions, then you can defer to a pretty simple rule.  Cotton and knits can be washed at home and everything else needs to be dry cleaned.  Chances are that most of your wardrobe that you would consider your “casual” clothing consists of cotton and knits as well as denim.  These are typically fine to put through the washer and dryer, although you may find tags with special cleaning instructions.  It is also not very well known that jeans should have a little bit of special care when being washed at home.  Jeans should not be put through the dryer, and should always be hung to dry.  Jeans should be washed inside out in cold water as well, and raw denim jeans (the expensive ones) should not be washed at all.  If you get a stain or dirt on them just wipe it off with water or take it to the dry cleaner.

So what types of materials are in need of dry cleaning? Silk, velvet, wool, leather and any kind of delicate fabric like cashmere should all be dry cleaned.   Chiffon, velvet and merino wool as well as any kind of formal wear especially wool suits are all going to need to be entrusted to professional cleaners if you want them to stay looking good.  Any type of garment that has embellishments of any kind on it should also probably be taken to the dry cleaners, because the agitation that is involved in the at-home cleaning process will probably ruin them.  The dry cleaning process is not one that uses the same types of agitation that your home washer and tumble dryer uses, so it is easier on fabrics and will keep them more intact.  Hats of almost any kind should all be dry cleaned as well, or not cleaned at all.

So you have decided to take your wardrobe seriously and not treat it like you did when you were in college, essentially throwing everything you own into a washing machine and hoping for the best.  The more expensive clothing that you use when you want to look more stylish and professional also needs better care than that if you plan on having it for longer than a few months, so get to know where the nearest dry cleaner is and use them regularly.  Your clothing will thank you by looking good for far longer, and it will ultimately save you money!

Types Of Things To Dry Clean

December 13, 2017 By seo_admin

A misunderstanding of dry cleaning can lead to a complete destruction of some of your most expensive clothing and household items.  Basically, dry cleaning is the removal of stains and soil from materials by a professional, using a chemical bath instead of water.  Many fabrics are too delicate to be washed in a home washing machine using soap and agitation, and these types of fabrics must be dry cleaned instead in order to assure that the fabric doesn’t loosen or age.  Anything with a tag that says “dry clean only” should never be washed in a home washing machine, and the best rule to follow is that if it isn’t casual clothes made out of cotton and denim, it should probably be dry cleaned.  This is going to include all suits and formal dresses, as these fabrics were designed to have a shape that they keep at all times.  Without the dry cleaning and pressing they will quickly lose their shape and form, and begin to look cheap and old.  But aside from suits and formal clothing, what other types of things need to be dry cleaned?

You can easily answer this question by looking around your home for things that are made out of material, and that come in contact with your skin or dust.  One of the most obvious is comforters, which come in contact with our bodies for more than eight hours a night.  Sweat and body oils as well as dirt and debris all get caught in the fabrics of comforters, eventually making them dirty and smelly.  A comforter should be dry cleaned at least once every six months.  Another item that needs periodic dry cleaning is your drapes and curtains.  While it may appear that they do not get dirty because they are hanging above the floor and do not come in contact with people every day, your curtains are absorbing everything that is in the air along with mold and dust.  They will begin to look dull after about a year, and will begin to trap odors that will make your home smell stale.  Curtains are one of the most prominent causes of smells in a home, and in order to keep them fresh they should be dry cleaned every year.  Aside from these things, pillows and pillow cases should be dry cleaned to prevent them from looking old, and anything else in your home that might trap soil is also a good candidate.

So now that you understand what dry cleaning is and what types of things need to be dry cleaned, how do you  choose your dry cleaner? Mostly, that choice is going to depend on convenience and referrals from friends and people online.  A good dry cleaner is going to always do their best to get your clothes clean, and the best ones are going to offer pickup and delivery services so as to be convenient for you.  We include our pickup and delivery for free, and we are working hard to gain your confidence that we are the best dry cleaner in Las Vegas.

Dry Cleaning Of Street Clothing

December 13, 2017 By seo_admin

Dry cleaning is misunderstood by many young people, as there is no longer quite as much call for formal clothing as there once was.  In the past, almost any office job was going to requite you to wear business attire every day, and then you would also have formal clothing that you would wear nights and weekends to do other activities like going out to dinner or get togethers with friends.  Over the last generation, these cultural norms have gradually been replaced by less formal clothing, with many work situations now not requiring you to dress up at all.  As a result of this shift, less people understand what dry cleaning is and why it is necessary on certain kinds of clothes but not other kinds.  Most people still have at least a few pieces of formal clothing that they wear on special occasions, and some people will wear more expensive clothes quite often, which will all require dry cleaning.  So what is different about dry cleaning than washing your clothes at home?

Dry cleaning is an industry term that describes the cleaning of clothing without using water and agitation to do so.  Many types of clothing are made out of materials that will be damaged if they are put into a standard home washing machine and exposed to water and soap.  These types of clothes are made of materials that have fibers that will change shape if they are soaked in water, destroying the look of the fabric as a result.  If a piece of clothing is meant for dry cleaning and it is put through a washer, it will come out looking old and tired, and will lose the crisp lines that make it look good.  Dry cleaning is the process of cleaning the garment using a chemical bath then extruding the chemicals from the clothes using a special machine.  The clothes are then pressed using an industrial grade presser to remove any wrinkles and are hung in plastic bags to preserve their freshness.

While street clothes like jeans and t shirts do not have to be dry cleaned, they can still benefit from being dry cleaned from time to time.  The dry cleaning process ultimately strengthens the fibers that the clothes are made from, so even a t shirt can be dry cleaned in order to look completely new again.  There are many cases where clothing isn’t necessarily formal, yet the person likes it so much that they want to keep it looking new all the time.  Dry cleaning is an effective way to prevent yellowing around the neck and arms, where sweat and skin come into contact with the clothing.  Even a dry cleaning periodically can go a long way to keeping your informal clothing looking like you just bought it.

Younger people can benefit from learning what dry cleaning is and how to get their clothes to the dry cleaner nearest to them.  Many offer pickup and delivery services, making them even more convenient than your home laundry.

Dry Cleaning For More Than Just Clothes

November 15, 2017 By seo_admin

Young people today have had little experience with dry cleaning, and some actually do not have any idea what it is and what the process entails.  Because of this fact, younger people many times will have almost no idea about the types of items that need to be dry cleaned, and how to accomplish this task.  Before we begin, lets define what dry cleaning is so that it is not confused with other types of laundering, and to give us some perspective into why it needs to be done on items that are not clothing.  Dry cleaning is the process of using other chemical blends that are not water in order to remove dirt and stains from fabrics, as well as odors.  The reason dry cleaning is necessary and was developed was due to the fact that most fine clothes are made of fabric blends that do not hold up well to being soaked in water, let alone the agitation and movements of a home washing machine.  If exposed to water in this way, these types of fabrics will become damaged at the thread level, making them look old and worn far faster than tougher fabrics like denims and cottons.  The reason these delicate fabrics are used is because they will have a far sharper and crisper look when used in the construction of the item, and will have bolder and richer colors.  With a more expensive and delicate fabric comes more responsibility if you are going to keep it looking the way it was designed to look.  Dry cleaning uses a chemical bath to remove the odors and loose soil, and the dry cleaner personnel will use specialized techniques to remove more set in staining.  After the chemical bath the articles are dried through the liquids being extruded from them via a specialized machine.  They are pressed using an industrial iron, and hung inside plastic bags to keep them fresh.  This process is necessary with regularity to keep fine fabrics looking good.

So what other types of items other than clothing needs to be dry cleaned regularly? The most obvious items are large pieces of fabric that cannot be washed in a washing machine, even if the fabrics were not something that would be damaged by the water.  Most washing machines are simply not large enough to be able to wash things like comforters or drapery panels, so these types of items should be taken to a dry cleaner.  Comforters get dirty faster than even your clothing does, as your skin is in contact with them for many hours every night, as well as being exposed to dirt and dust in the air every day.  Drapes are the same way as far as ongoing exposure to the dust and dirt that is floating around in your house.  Smokers and vapers will find that their rapes will get smelly and dirty looking even faster as particles in the air settle on them.    These types of items need dry cleaned regularly to keep your home from smelling, and to keep them looking new.  They are quite expensive, so it is necessary to keep them clean in order to extend their life spans.

Dry Cleaning Keeps Clothes New

November 15, 2017 By seo_admin

Many younger people today do not understand the concept of dry cleaning your clothing, and have not been raised in an environment where dry cleaning has been explained.  This probably has a lot to do with culture today, and not having as many situations where formal clothing is necessary.  Many places of employment no longer require their employees to wear a suit or even business attire to work, and the situations that occur outside of work are more and more casual every year.  This does not negate the fact that there are occasions that require formal clothing like suits or more high end dresses, and that more delicate fabrics need special care in order to continue looking good.  This is where dry cleaning comes into play, in order to not only keep your clothes looking good after they are worn but also extending their life span.  Formals are not cheap, and making sure that they last as long as possible makes sense.

The first thing to do is to probably explain what dry cleaning is, so that younger people understand why it is necessary.  A suit or any other formal piece of clothing is generally made from materials and weaves that do not hold up to water saturation without being stained or ruined.  Even worse would be to put an article of formal clothing into a washing machine or dryer at home, as there is almost no way that the materials will come out looking sharp afterward.  Since these fabrics cannot withstand water saturation, how are you to clean them to remove stains, oils from your skin or odors? The dry cleaning process uses specialized chemicals to bathe the garments, then these chemicals are removed from the clothes using a special machine that extrudes them out.  After the clothes are bathed in the liquid, they are then pressed using an industrial iron in order to remove any wrinkling.  The dry cleaning process is not dry at all, that is just the term used for cleaning without water.

Dy cleaning is going to help your clothes age for a longer period of time.  Formal clothes are not like t shirt or jeans where you can just wear them and wash them until they are ruined.  Formal clothing costs far more, and because of not only the cost but also because formal clothing is designed to look more crisp than street clothing, dry cleaning is necessary to keep that look.  If a formal garment is not dry cleaned regularly it will begin to look sloppy after only a few wearings, and it will begin to smell.  The oils in your skin coming in contact with clothing will quickly stain it, or turn whites to yellow.  If these are allowed to build up there will be a point where the clothes cannot be saved by dry cleaning, and must be completely replaced.  Dry clean your formal and semi-formal clothing as often as you can, preferably after one or two wearings.  This is the only way to keep it looking good and lasting longer.

Dry Cleaning For Delicate Fabrics

October 25, 2017 By seo_admin

Clothing in the modern day and age is sometimes referred to as “fast fashion,” at least from the standpoint of the younger generation.  A demand for clothing that only costs a few dollars per item have created a cultural misunderstanding of dry cleaning, due to the fact that in many cases the clothing that is worn every day is so inexpensive and cheaply made that it can literally be thrown away instead of washed.  Fast fashion items are generated in foreign countries using low cost labor and cheap materials, which will provide garments that traditionally do not fit well or last very long.  While it has become fashionably acceptable to wear cheap and ill fitting clothing as every day clothes, formal wear still has the care and maintenance rules that it always has.  A suit of formal clothing of any kind must be dry cleaned in order to remove stains and odors, and it should be dry cleaned at least every second or third wearing if you are going to keep the materials it is made with in good shape.  Delicate clothing is made of fibers that do not stand up to water and machine washing the same way that street clothing does, and exposing formal clothing to water will quickly ruin the fabric.  The threads of the fabric will quickly break down and no longer maintain the crisp look that a formal garment is supposed to have.  If you attempt to press many of these garments at home using a standard iron, you can actually melt the fabrics and create a shine to the clothing that looks terrible.  This is why the dry cleaning process is still important for the younger generation to understand, because if they own formal clothing of any kind they are going to need to get it dry cleaned.

Dry cleaning is the process of bathing the garment in a chemical bath that removes oils, debris and odors.  If stains are set in, the dry cleaner can use a more intense process on the stained area in order to treat it.  After the garment is removed from the chemicals, they are extruded from the fabrics using a special machine and then pressed using an industrial iron created specifically for delicate fabrics.  This will assure that the wrinkles and stains are removed and the fabric remains as crisp and clean as new, extending the life span of the garment far longer than if you attempt to not dry clean in between wearings.  The oils in your skin will begin to damage the fabrics almost immediately, and if allowed to build up will create stains that cannot be removed.  The garments are then hung in plastic bags waiting to be picked up or delivered.

Your street clothes are not like your formal clothes.  More expensive clothing needs special care that only dry cleaning provides to it in order to remain looking good.  It costs too much to replace these articles of clothing with the same regularity that you replace your street clothes, so dry clean them regularly.

You Cannot Wash A Suit Or Formal Wear In A Washing Machine

October 25, 2017 By seo_admin

The younger generation has grown up during a time when “fast fashion” dominates that way that clothing is viewed.  This means that clothing is manufactured so quickly and cheaply today that many people choose to not even wash their clothes more than a few times.  Instead, they will many times choose to simply throw the clothes away and purchase new ones due to the expenses of washing them outweighing the actual purchase of new ones.  What comes along with the manufacture of clothing this cheaply is poor quality fabrics and construction, ultimately resulting in clothes that do not fit as well as they could, or wear as well as they could.  While this phenomenon might not have a lot to do with the dry cleaning market, because if a person is not going to choose to wash their clothing in a regular washer then they are surely not going to have it dry cleaned, it actually does create a misunderstanding of clothing and fabrics that might cause confusion among some people.  The question of “can you wash a suit or formal clothing in a washing machine” comes up often.  We will take a little time to explain why you cannot wash a suit in a washing machine, and what would happen if you were to try.

If you purchase a suit that is made of a fabric blend, chances are it cannot be washed in a washing machine as water will cause the fibers to become worn.  It also cannot be pressed using a conventional iron as this amount of heat will cause the fabrics to melt slightly, giving a shiny and uneven appearance.  Formal clothing and suits can only be cleaned using a specialized process called “dry cleaning,” which uses a chemical bath to remove soils and stains, as well as odors.  After being bathed in the chemical, it is then extruded from the fabrics using a specialized machine.  The clothing is then gently pressed using a professional ironing machine, creating a crisp and clean look that cannot be achieved at home.  Taking clothing in to the dry cleaners used to be far more popular than it is today as the clothing was made from better materials and the clothing was also worn more often, as many people had to dress professionally for work.  Culture has loosened this up a bit, a d workplaces are more casual now probably because the amount of “fast fashion” items has become so great.  No matter what, each and every person needs a certain amount of formal wear for occasions that do not allow for street clothes, and these items are going to have to be dry cleaned in order to keep them looking good.

So how often do you need to dry clean a suit or formal clothing? The best bet is to dry clean it after each wearing.  Your local dry cleaner probably offers a pickup and delivery service free of charge to make it easy for you.  Complete Dry Cleaners offers to come to your home or place of business to pick up your clothes, then drop them off at the same location when we are done.  This should make cleaning your formal clothing to be convenient and affordable, and while it would be more convenient to simply throw your suit in the washing machine, you will ruin it by doing that.
